AREA INFORMATION
Didsbury:
- the most sought-after and prestigious of the South Manchester suburbs. Didsbury is made up of three quiet different parts. The borders of the area have recently been enlarged to include the extending community area.

It was originally a Saxon fort, and although it is only three miles from the city centre, retains a village community identity. Didsbury as a whole has a lively social scene, a real mix of residents, and something for everyone. There are a wide variety of sports teams, from bowls to American football, and lots of parks. It is not cheap to buy or to rent, it is one of the most expensive areas in Manchester.

Didsbury Village is arguably the most desirable. The high street is host to Marks and Spencers, as well as a host of trendy and traditional bars, cafe's and restaurants. It has a busy and friendly night-life, with the pavements alive with drinkers in the summer, and packed in when the outdoor tables have less appeal in the winter.

Withington:-
an area with great variety- terraced houses, corporation housing, modern apartments and large semi's, this suburb is very popular with students, professionals and families alike, and there is a great community spirit.

More bars and restaurants have opened in the last few years, and the area manages to have a lively night-life without losing its local feel. Withington has increased in local standing as an over-flow from the ever- popular Didsbury, particularly as prices there have increased to heights unachievable for many.

Withington has retained a very strong position on the property market, boosted by great bus service, schools, medical facilities, parks and one of the earliest swimming pools in Manchester.
