Situated just to the south of the City Centre the redevelopment of Hulme started in the early 1990’s and the area continues grow. There is a strong community in the area with local events and support for its residents.
Properties in the area are predominantly modern apartments and houses. There are also mid to late 20th century tower blocks which have been renovated and houses from the same period.
From Hulme Asda to Oxford Road Train Stations is a little over a mile if you are walking or driving. Being so close to the city centre means it enjoys all the benefits of City Centre transport networks.
Hulme is home to several primary schools and a high school. There are also 6th form colleges, Xaverian and Loreto. Manchester Metropolitan University is a recent addition to the area. A 12-acre green landscape is the setting for a state-of-the-art university with three key university faculties within one building.
In 1999 Hulme Park was the first new park to be built in Manchester for nearly 50 years and residents can take advantage of a high quality football pitch, a basketball/netball court, a skateboard area with specialist activity equipment, a sunken sensory garden, a granite paved performance area known as Zion Square, and picnic tables.
