Sale is located 2.5 miles from Altrincham and 5.2 miles Southwest of Manchester City Centre. It is a popular commuter town under Trafford.
Waterside Arts Centre is on the site of the former Sale Civic Theatre as well as part of the former Trafford Council Town Hall. The centre plays host to touring productions and music groups and has seminars and workshops on art based subjects.
Sale Sharks Rugby Club still train in the area however their home ground is now found at the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford. A trip out to the rugby is a popular and reasonably priced family day out.
Due to the size of the town there is a vast variety of property types in Sale, modern new builds, family housing and period properties.
Sale has the benefit of two Metrolink stops on the Altrincham – Manchester Line. The A56 Chester Road leading into Manchester is on the border of Stretford and Sale. Like its neighbour Altrincham, Sale is within easy reach of the M60, M56 and M6 Motorways.
Sale has one grammar school, two secondary modern schools and nineteen primary schools.
Sale Water Park is 152 acres of countryside and parkland with a 52 acre artificial Lake. In the northeast of Sale Water Park, is Broad Ees Dole, an important wildlife refuge popular with birdwatchers.
