Five ways to add comfort to your home
The January weather is in full swing with hail, snow and rain taking turns in trying to make your day miserable. Having a cozy and comfortable space in the home for you to wash all the stress away is essential. Here are five way to add comfort to your home.
Light those LED candles
LED candles are the modern day version of traditional candles providing the same charm and elegance. LED’s not only save you money in the long run but they are also a lot more fun to decorate with. Their safety features mean that they can be left anywhere around the home without running the risk of causing a fire hazard.
Add a rug…or a couple
After a long day at work I usually find myself sat on the floor snuggled up to the fireplace. That’s not to say I don’t own a sofa, but there is something truly incredible about sitting down on a soft and fluffy carpet that a chair just can’t compare to. If you have laminate flooring don’t worry you don’t have to spend a small fortune to install carpet when a rug can easily suffice.
Invest in a blanket
Blankets are awesome, they are always there when you need them and can add style and colour to almost any room. Place a blanket at the end of your sofa for when you have that much needed power nap or for keeping warm watching films on a grey day!
Decorate with fairy lights
Have you ever noticed how cozy your living room is at Christmas? There is something comforting about a roaring fire (if you’re lucky enough to have one!) and the glow of Christmas lights from your tree. But let’s be realistic having Christmas lights around your home all year would be a little strange, that’s where fairy lights come in. Personally I have them scattered on my TV desk as I find they give off a warm ambiance. You can find fairy lights in your local store or online and they won’t break the bank.
Add a few books
There is nothing better than sitting down and losing yourself in a good book as the worries of the real world get put on hold. If you’re not a fan of reading then books can make a great decoration piece and you never know, one day you will find yourself picking one up.
