Maggie’s Manchester shortlisted for North West Building of the Decade

We are excited to announce that our partner charity, Maggie’s Manchester has been shortlisted for the BBC North West Tonight People’s Choice Building of the Decade. The building, by renowned architect, Lord Norman Foster is set in a peaceful gardens designed by Chelsea flower show gold winner Dan Pearson. The centre opened in 2016 and offers practical and emotional support to those affected by cancer.

In April, the BBC North West Tonight and Insider Media, shortlisted 25 unique and eye catching buildings built in the last decade from;  Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and North Derbyshire and Cumbria and the Isle of Man. Viewers were then asked to vote for their favourite and on 16th April Maggie’s was announced as the Greater Manchester Building of the decade. Now, the winning building from each area is competing to be named as North West Building of the decade at the Insider North West Property Awards on Thursday 17 May.

This year we have set ourselves a goal of fundraising £2500 for Maggie’s Manchester and on 20th May we will be taking part on the Manchester 10k. Maggie’s is relies almost entirely on donations and our target of £2500 is the amount it costs to run the centre for a day.

Please help us reach our goal and support our runners by donating on our Just Giving Page.
