Moving out - 'Give It Don't Bin It'

The award winning ‘Give it Don’t Bin It’ campaign is back and in the spotlight. Coming up to moving out time, do you really want to keep your old bedding, hoover or pots and pans? Before you bin it could someone else use it?

The scheme, supported by both Manchester Universities and the City Council makes it easy to donate any unwanted belongings when moving out and helps a great charitable cause at the same time. What could be better!

The project is also backed by Manchester Student Homes and the British Heart Foundation (BHF). Donation packs were recently delivered by student volunteers ready for end of tenancies. The packs contain donation bags and information on how you can pass on everything from tea bags to TVs.

Packs have been distributed to these streets,  if you haven’t received one pop in to Manchester Student homes to collect one.

There are also food collection bins located in the Manchester Student Homes office where you can leave any items as well if you would like to donate. So don’t just bin that tin of beans or can of John West you find at the back of the cupboard. Still in date? Donate it for a good cause!
