The Manchester Nightlife – Satan’s Hollow
Manchester is known by many people for its amazing nightlife, with so many options regardless of your taste. I’m sure I can’t be the only one who has found themselves outside a takeout at half past three in the morning chomping down a kebab, talking nonsense with your new best mate of the evening. Crazy I know, but it is just one of the many effects of the Manchester nightlife.
To be honest I have quite an eclectic taste in music. Satan's Hollow is one of the places that my other half dragged me to and I have to say I am glad she did. Although not my regular cup of tea you can’t help but dance when an undeniable tune comes on. You know the ones, those songs we say we hate but secretly put on full blast when no one is around. Only me? Okay.
You might think this place is only incredibly popular with the younger crowd, but the age range is pretty diverse. A reason I really love Satan’s Hollow. If the name wasn’t a dead giveaway, this is one of the few clubs in Manchester that is aimed at rock and metal enthusiasts alike.
When you walk in, the first thing that hits you is the décor. Not literally of course, but it is quite unique that’s for sure. The theme? Yep you guessed it, it has a hellish theme. One of the little designs I love is the tiny ‘graveyard’ in the corner by one of the bars. It has seating for when you desperately need a little sit down after some intense dancing. The major highlight of the décor for me though is just above the DJ booth, where there is a huge statue of Satan himself!
While my mind is over this side of the room, the DJ’s are all different from the ones you would find on your typical nights out. To me this not a bad thing at all, as they are all really into their music and it shows in a great way. They are easy to talk to and very polite. All the staff are really friendly and polite, including the barmen and the guys on the door. Behind the bar they are incredibly quick on their feet even when the floods of ‘happy’ customers swarm over for their next pit stop. Of course you might have the occasions where you can be stood waiting before quite a few other people but this is a given in any bar I would say. Drinks are well priced and can sometimes be as cheap a £1. So there is never really an excuse to not go up and fuel up!
Satan’s is complete with two bars and on Tuesday nights they even have a free bar open between 10pm and 11pm! Free booze what can be better than that on a night out? They also have a large dance floor and also a little music room located in a separate area. Just in case the music in the main room doesn’t really fit your jaeger bomb dance routine. This area does close off after a certain time, so planning out where you’re going to be during the night is something you may want to think about.
Anyone who goes on a night out will know choosing what to wear can be tricky, as some nightclubs have strict dress codes. Satan’s does not discriminate on how you look or dress which is amazing and something other clubs should take note of.
This Manchester hangout is not just known as a typical ‘straight up’ nightclub. They also host a number of live band nights, promo nights and after show parties. You can read up on all of Satan’s Hollow’s upcoming events on their Facebook page
So now it is time to get your phone out (if you haven’t already) and make a note of 101 Princess Street, Manchester. This is a great place that doesn’t take itself too seriously with such a nice atmosphere. If you have not already taken a visit to Satan’s Hollow then I suggest you do, you will not regret it. You can thank me later.
