What to do in Manchester this Easter

With the long bank holiday weekend ahead of us, and the weather report not looking too shabby, we thought we would give you a round up of what’s happening in and around Manchester this Easter weekend.

 

The Manchester Duck Race 2017 Spinningfields

Looking for some family fun? Why not head over to Spinningfields where the 8th annual. Duck race is being held on Good Friday. There is no entrance fee and there lots of way to keep kids young and old busy, with family activities, fairground rides, a petting zoo and more.

The event starts at 11am with the first race at 2pm. It costs just £1 to buy a duck and enter the race with all proceeds going to local children’s charity Brainwave. You may even bump into one of the surprise celebrity guests who will also be announcing the winners.

Cadburys Egg Hunt Lyme Park

Cadburys have once again teamed up with The National Trust who will be hosting Easter Egg Hunts across the Country.  Join the Cadbury's Easter Hunt at Lyme, explore the garden, just like Thomas Legh, Lyme's great explorer and earn yourself a chocolate treat!

  • Date: 14th to 17th April 11am to 4pm
  • Entrance: £2 for an Easter Trail Map, Garden ticket is required and there is a cost for parking
  • (Parking and Garden tickets are free for National Trust Members)

 

GRUB Food Fair's extraVEGANza 

Manchester's street food heroes GRUB Food Fair are gearing up for another vegan edition of their weekly street food fair hidden in Alphabet Brewery's railway arches. Among the line-up of traders heading to 99 North Western Street will be legendary Manchester bakery Pollen, will also be going Vegan for one day only! Get there early as food stocks can start to dwindle from as early as 6pm.

  • Time: Noon to 10pm

Breakfast with Bunny at the Hard Rock Café  

Who wants to see their little ones eyes light up by meeting the actual real life Easter Bunny. Throw in a full English breakfast with cereals, tea, coffee and a selection of juices and you can keep everyone happy. There's also face painting, balloon modelling and magic tricks to entertain the kids.

  • Cost: Tickets are £10.95 per person and availability is limited.

Yard and Coop Easter Egg Hunt

Why should the kids have all the fun this Easter?! Northern Quarter restaurant Yard and Coop will be hiding golden eggs throughout Manchester for people of any ages to find. From Wednesday 12th, fifty eggs will be hidden across the city with clues to their whereabouts being given on Yard and Coop’s Facebook Page.

The prize? Well its not chocolate eggs they will be giving away, but £350 worth of deep fried goodies and booze. One lucky winner will even get a years worth of chicken and chips! Mmmmmmm!

MCFC Easter Stadium and Club Tour #CityEggHunt

#CityEggHunt forms part of the MCFC Easter Stadium and Club tour, running from 3 - 17 April. Guests on the Tour will be tasked with finding the Easter Eggs hidden throughout the course of the 70 minute professionally guided tour. Find all three, get a photo and tweet the photos including #CityEggHunt to be in with a chance to win exclusive MCFC Prizes.

  • Tickets for the Etihad tour cost £17 per adult, £11 per child aged 5-16 and £12 for concessions.

The Nick Jr. All-Star Easter takeover at the Trafford Centre

Nick Jr. is taking over at The Trafford Centre over the Easter holidays. Fancy getting a snap on Shimmer and Shines magic carpet? Or a Pizza party with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? You'll find them at the Topshop Link, Upper Regent Crescent, 12noon - 5pm

Easter Activities at Ikea

Ikea at Ashton Moss have a have a range of free activities throughout the Easter break to keep the kids entertained. On the run up to the Easter weekend there are craft activities and from Good Friday there are Funbooks, treasure hunts and Viking hats available at the main entrance.

On the 12th there is even an Easter Party for Ikea Famiy members with a DJ, party games, competitions, face painting and crafts.

  • Cost: Entrance is Free. Food is available for the Party at an additional cost
