Just four miles south of the city centre, and sandwiched between Fallowfield and Didsbury, this suburb is very popular with students, professionals and families alike.

Withington high street is home to numerous bars, restaurants, take aways and shops. Situated with a stunning Edwardian building, Withington Baths and Leisure centre has a programme of keep fit classes, pool and a Sauna. Getting About

Wilmslow Road, one of the UK’s busiest bus routes, runs through the centre of Withington so the area has excellent public transport links into the city centre.

There are two metrolink stops in Withington, one on Burton Road and another on the Princess Parkway. They are located on the East Didsbury – City Centre Line.


There are two secondary schools in Withington- the private Withington Girls’ School, and Manchester Grammar School. There are also six local primary schools


There are lots of ‘green’ areas in and around Withington including Fog Lane and Old Moat Parks. Platt Fields Park in Fallowfield has a boating lake, children’s playgrounds and picnic areas.
